Family Law Section Meeting

The Family Law Section Meeting will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 12 PM.

Topic: Come join us for a lively discussion providing tips and guidance about family law services and programs, as well as what lawyers are getting wrong when their motions are denied (and how to do it right). You’ll learn about services that can be asked for at the scheduling conference (what can/can’t be requested/costs) and what the Court is looking for when lawyers request certain things (i.e., custody evaluation, psychological evaluation, substance abuse evaluation). We will also hear from Magistrate Sonnier on her reflections after eight months on the bench.

Guest Speakers: Magistrate Sonnier; Special Magistrate Lisa Mohink; Family Law Coordinator Kathleen Eyler; and Court Social Workers Sarah Madison, Brandi Jay, and Emily Zarra.
