Since 1981, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) volunteers have provided legal representation to over 75,000 low and moderate-income people across the state. Our mission is to provide quality civil legal assistance to Marylanders of limited means at low or no cost. Our vision is to ensure access to justice for all in Maryland.
The support of local bar associations is an essential part of making that vision a reality. Your leadership helps MVLS recruit and retain volunteer lawyers who year after year serve over 3,000 low-income Marylanders annually. We appreciate your support of pro bono and want you to know about the good work of MVLS volunteer lawyers in your community. Attached is a list of MVLS volunteer lawyers who accepted or closed a pro bono case in Howard County last year. When you see these lawyers at bar meetings or in the community, please thank them for their generous support of access to justice in Maryland.
